A customer can choose from two panel versions, in which each color is separately controllable:
- White-Red panel: maximum intensity 1,500 µmol(photon)/m2.s (white 750 / red 750)
- Blue-Red panel: maximum intensity 1,500 µmol(photon)/m2.s (blue 750 / red 750) - Light Upgraded panel is an option and must be ordered separately.
A customer can choose from two basic versions, in which each color is separately controllable:
- White-Red panel: maximum intensity 3,000 µmol(photon)/m2.s (white 2250 / red 750)
- Blue-Red panel: maximum intensity 3,000 µmol(photon)/m2.s (blue 2250 / red 750) - Besides that, the following customized panels are offered (please inquire for their price).

Optional Features and Accessories
Light Upgrade
To increase intensity of actinic light in the Photobioreactor. The maximum reachable depends on light color - please inquire at zc.isp@ofni.
Turbidostat Module I.
Includes Peristaltic Pump PP 500 and controller. The module enables continuous-flow turbidostatic cultivation. In the most basic setup, the Photobioreactor optical sensing unit monitors the optical density (OD680, OD735) of the culture. The Peristaltic Pump adds medium accordingly to keep the culture turbidity constant.
Turbidostat Module II.
Includes Peristaltic Pump PP 550 and controller. The module enables continuous-flow turbidostatic cultivation with additional possibility of gas regulation, for instance, for pH-stat management via changing gas rate.
Peristaltic Pump PP 500
The system enables cascading of up to 8 pumps. These pumps can be operated in pH-stat or chemostat mode and each pump can be controlled according to a different parameter (pH, Ft, Fm...). The pump allows variable flow-rate range from 10 to 5600 µl/min.
Peristaltic Pump PP 550
The enhanced pump version can control both liquids and gases. It may be equipped with up to four electrical valves that may serve for regulation of gas inflow into the culture (pH-stat or chemostat cultivation). PP 550 is designed to be used with the parent device only. The standard version comes with one electrical valve; up to three additional valves may be enabled as an option.
PWM Pump (for Gas or Liquid)
PWM pump can be used for pumping liquid or gas into the cultivation cuvette; it can be regulated withing a range of 1-100 % of total output. The pump has diverse uses: (1) Controlled air bubbling in the cultivation vessel; (2) Single gas input into the vessel; (3) When connected to the vessel inlet and outlet, it can be used for suspension mixing (bubbling) in anaerobic conditions.
O2 Module
To measure concentration of dissolved O2 (includes the probe and a special electronic module).
CO2 Module
To determine the dissolved carbon dioxide concentration in the medium (includes the probe and a special electronic module). This gas sensing electrode consists of a pH electrode immersed in an electrolyte solution which is separated from the measuring solution by a gas sensitive membrane.
pH / Temperature Module
To measure pH and temperature (includes the probe and a special electronic module).

Supplementary cable and connector for O2 probe.
Air Pump with Bubble Interruption Valve
Air pump for culture bubble stirring. Supplemented with a valve, which interrupts bubbling during single measurements, and thus allows for more precise readings.
Magnetic Stirrer
The magnetic stirrer rotates a teflon-coated magnetic bar in a vertical plane of the front window inside the Photobioreactor. The frequency of the rotation is adjustable. The stirrer is essential when the agitation by air or gas bubbles cannot be used, e.g., when the photosynthetic oxygen evolution or respiratory oxygen uptake are measured. It can be also used to reduce cell sedimentation in addition to agitation by air or other gas bubbles.
Bubble Humidifier
To keep the vessel volume stable.
External Light Panel
To accommodate specific needs of different organisms or to increase illumination intensity. External light panel is offered in three versions: single color (E-1), single color with additional IR LEDs (E-2), and bicolor (E-3).
Standard Supplementary Vessel
Suitable for cultivation in the range of 18 - 50 °C. Made from stainless steel and glass, it includes the frame, lid and glass body. Supplementary glass part includes just the glass body.
Enhanced Vessel
Suitable for cultivation in the range of 0 - 70 °C. Made from nickel-plated brass covered with ceramic layer.
High-Precision Gas Mixing System
High-precision gas mixer can hold up to four channels. The standard version of the system includes two channels: Channel 1 serves Air-N2; Channel 2 serves CO2.
Gas Analyzing System GAS 150
Enables measuring CO2 and O2 at the cultivation output. If connected to CO2 electrode, it also enables measuring CO2 in the cultivated suspension.
Spare Part Kit
Kit includes: bulk connection plastics 45pc, one-way valves 5pc, double-check valve 5pc, stainless bushing with silicone ring 2pc, rubber gasket 5pc, o-rings 5pc, silicone tubing 10 m.

Other Photobioreactors
Photobioreactors FMT 150/400 and FMT 150/1000 feature a unique combination of the cultivator and computer controlled monitoring device. FMT 150/400 and FMT 150/1000 differ in the capacity of their cultivation vessels - 400 ml and 1000 ml respectively. Both Photobioreactor models may be supplied with a number of useful accessories - sensors, stirrers, pumps, etc.
Multi-Cultivator MC 1000
Multi-Cultivator MC 1000 serves for small scale cultivation of algae, bacteria or cyanobacteria. The instrument represents a perfect solution in applications requiring diverse experimental variants. In an ideal configuration, the high-throughput part of the experiments is performed in the MC 1000 and the results are finalized in our FMT 150.
